They stained the assembly and then weather-coated it. It turned out beautiful, and we received many comments from our neighbors. "I am from Morgantown, West Virginia, and was getting prepared to build our dream home. The number of decisions that needed to be made when taking on such an adventure, particularly when you become the general contractor, are enormous and one needs as much honest help as they can get. We wanted a home that fit our needs. One criterion was to have large windows given the location of the home. We wanted when you were in the house you felt like you were outside. My second concern was that the windows needed to be of the quality that when sitting next to them, one would not feel a draft, and when touching the windows regardless of time of the year, they would feel like room temperature. After searching the internet, we found several brands of windows that appeared to meet our criteria. We then tried to find dealers where we could sit down with and talk about the windows. In the search, we found Blyth & Shearn in the Pittsburgh area. We drove up and met with Greg. After getting to know each other, we then began discussing our needs. Greg was outstanding. He did not try to sell us anything. His approach was to address our needs. He showed us the product we should consider and told us why. He discussed with us the window sizes and made valuable recommendations. After the initial meeting, we met several times going over the house plans and the type and size of the window that would meet our goals. The decision was made, and the price was fair. I could not find a better price anywhere. When the windows were delivered, Greg was there to help. The day was awful. Heavy rain and the ground was mud. He worked with us unloading the windows and helping to set the large windows into the house. The home is now complete, and we continue to be in contact. The windows in the winter on top of the mountain are warm in the winter. When the rain turns to sleet, ice forms on the outside of the windows which tells me the heat in the house is not escaping through the windows. I am from Minnesota and have never seen anything like that before. We had a couple of issues, and Greg took care of them immediately. We are still his friend 3 years later. I remember one time I called to talk with Greg, and he was not in. They gave me someone else. I was concerned at first but quickly became relaxed. Everyone in the store knew who we were and were open to helping us with our questions. Very impressive. In addition to the windows, we also purchased all of our external doors from them, and we are very pleased with that decision. The doors are very secure, and we feel no draft. I would recommend Blyth & Shearn to anyone."
